It's a lazy, hot day. I'm attempting to break through writer's block today, but lacking the creative vibe today. I thought maybe moving around and making something delicious to snack on might help. I love sweet onions and mayo, so this dip hit the spot. The recipe is from theviewfromgreatisland.com.
1 Vidalia onion
1 c mayonnaise
1 c sour cream
1 c shredded mozzarella
1.5 cup shredded white cheddar cheese
1 can black olives
3/4 tsp salt
3/4 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp hot sauce
1/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1. Set the oven to 375F
2. Peel and slice the onion into quarters. Cut 3 of the sections into very fine slices, mince the fourth section. Put the onion in a bowl with the rest of the ingredients and mix well until everything is thoroughly combined.
3. Thinly slice the black olives.
4. Spoon the mixture into an ovenproof casserole and bake for 25 minutes until browned and bubbly.
5. While the dip is baking, slice a baguette and place the slices on a hot grill pan to toast them on both sides. Serve with the hot dip.
